In October 1999 raves.com.au was one Netscape-friendly page with a tiled GIF background, a message board, a guestbook and a counter from thecounter.com. Its copy described it as "the leading Australian portal of dance rave music, events listings and message forum," with affiliates in Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra.
Feeling nostalgic? Switch the whole site back to 1997.
Promoters: put your party in front of Australia's rave crowd. Listings are free for limited time.
The e-letter is back. Each week: new events, on-sale alerts and lineup drops, sent to your inbox before the tickets sell out.
Look after yourself and your crew. The scene only works if everyone gets home.
Sip water regularly, about 500ml an hour while dancing, and take breaks in chill-out zones.
Arrive together, leave together. Agree on a meeting spot in case phones die.
Know where the first-aid tent is. Medics are there to help, not to get you in trouble.
Earplugs don't ruin the sound, and they mean you can keep raving for decades.
